Leidos has won two indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, time and material task orders with a combined potential value of $1.5 billion as part of the Social Security Administration’s follow-on Information Technology Support Services Contract.

Under the two ITSSC2 awards, Leidos is responsible for providing systems and infrastructure assistance for the SSA’s deputy commissioner of systems and its Office of Systems Operations and Hardware Engineering, the Reston, Virginia-based enterprise announced on Monday.

“These awards will allow us to extend our current support into new areas such as IT infrastructure and programmatic support. We look forward to leveraging our experience and intimate understanding of SSA’s business to position the agency for the future,” commented Leidos Health Group President Liz Porter.

As ordered by the contracts, Leidos will provide software systems and services support, including lifecycle software enhancement and web/interface design for the deputy commissioner of systems as well as planning, implementation, operation and maintenance support for the OSOHE’s computer systems, enterprise IT infrastructure and application platform.

Both awards have a base period of performance with five one-year options and one six-month option.

Leidos has supported SSA for almost 30 years now. In 2018, the company won two task orders under the earlier ITSSC contract with a total value of $639 million.

Under the first of these contracts, Leidos assisted the administration’s Office of Software Engineering through the provision of lifecycle support for software upgrades and web/interface design, including design alternatives, user-centered design, development, integration, implementation and deployment for waterfall, hybrid and agile methodologies.

The second award tasked Leidos with integrating and simplifying the disability claims process for the Disability Case Processing System.

In 2017, Leidos was among the contractors that won positions on the potential 10-year SSA contract to provide IT support services surrounding data systems and administrative, programmatic and management requirements for the Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Systems.

Leidos is sponsoring the Potomac Officers Club’s 4th Annual CIO Summit, which will bring top CIO’s in the industry to discuss IT problems and solutions on April 13. To learn more and register for the event, please visit the Potomac Officers Club events page.
